I was checking out Charmaine's Etsy store and started to wonder why I hadn't posted her work yet. I connect with her paintings, even after coming back to them over the four or five months since I first saw her work at Gallery 6. Maybe it's because we grew up in the same funky beach town or because she loves to paint girls and animals, especially birds. Either way these paintings and drawings are quite entrancing in person. I have even had the pleasure of drinking vodka soda in the SF living room/studio where she made them. Charmaine is a sweet girl and I've already seen her paintings improve so much over a short period, I know she will be hugely successful. Can't wait to buy one of these.
